Not to restore it, but just to clean it up. When you're dealing with paint, if there isn't a lot of rust you can use de-greasers and get grease off, soap and water first, being careful on the decals. You can clean the paint off, and improve the quality of and the grading of the bike. For chrome parts there's a lot you can do. If you look at this, this is a fork crown. It doesn't look that great, but a lot of this is just grease, and if you use some bronze wool; you don't want to use steel wool, cause' steel wool can scratch the chrome; you can see how it's starting to get clean already.

A little more work with that, and some cleaning fluid, and it will get better. That will take just a few more minutes, and this will look like a brand new part. Sometimes you run into parts that are aluminum. Aluminum, you've got to be careful with. This is not aluminum, this is steel; chrome steel, so I can clean this up. Again, a little bit of steel wool, a couple of minutes; you can do this while you're watching TV, and it's a it's a great way to improve the grading of your bike, and it's really easy, and it's extremely satisfying, because with just a tiny bit of work, parts can look a lot better. Any kind of chrome you have, if it's got this type of rust, if there's not bad pitting, even if there's a little pitting it'll look better, but if there's not any pitting in it it'll come out looking great. If there is pitting, you'll at least make it look a lot better.
